The Dallas Cowboys are back on the road this week as they prepare for their biggest game of the year.

They travel to Philadelphia to take on the 7-1 Eagles with a chance to take control of the NFC East.

After their best game in all three phases last week against the Rams, they will need it again on Sunday afternoon.

Do you want the media to take you seriously? Go into Philly and win this game, and I can promise you will get the respect you are looking for.

Gain Control Early

I feel much better about this game today than I did a few weeks ago.

The offense last week finally stopped forcing the run and allowing Dak Prescott and CeeDee Lamb to do what they do.

Mike McCarthy called a solid game, and with a struggling Eagles secondary, I expect this team to come out throwing the football early Sunday.

They are better when playing from ahead. If the defense touches the field first, a big stop to start the game would be great.

If the offense touches the field first, do what you did last week. Get seven on the first drive and play to the defense.

Put some pressure on Philly and let them play the way you want to play, not their way.

Dak Prescott

Prescott has 11 career starts against the Eagles. He is 8-3. 3-0 against Nick Sirianni, the current head coach.

Hurts has only played in one of those games. It shouldn’t matter. Prescott plays well against the Eagles whenever he is under center.

He averages 250 yards per game, with 19 touchdowns and only eight interceptions.

I am not expecting anything perfect on the road against the best team in football, but if he plays anything like he did last week, or even against the Chargers, it gives the Cowboys a great chance to win.

Takeaways

The Cowboys’ defense will have plenty of chances to take the ball away.

Jalen Hurts is excellent, but we can’t ignore that he is tied for the league lead in turnovers.

We have to be fair.

AJ Brown is going to be a problem. No matter who is covering him, he is going to get his.

Take it as it comes, but try to make others beat you. If that is the case, you live with it.

Monday morning will either be a really fun day or a miserable one.

I went back and forth on how I thought this game would go, but I trust the Cowboys’ strength on defense more than I trust the Eagles’ offense RIGHT NOW.

I’ve got the Cowboys winning this game and proving a lot of folks wrong.

Dallas wins a close one, 29-27.

Aubrey continues to be the cream of Dallas’ rookie crop

The 2023 rookie class in Dallas – aside from placekicker Brandon Aubrey – continues to underwhelm this season. While Aubrey was setting a new NFL record on Sunday, Luke Schoonmaker was coming up short in a crucial situation. But at least he got on the stat sheet. Which is more…
