Well, Cowboys Fan, how are you feeling this morning after the 42-10 beatdown you just watched?

Mad? Angry? A word we really can’t use because kids might be reading this?

How about fed up? Are we fed up with a franchise that finally shows signs of “getting it” only to fold in the big games?

Cowboys' Christmas Gift To Fans Is A Lump Of Coal

How many more of these games are we going to have to endure?

Better yet, how much longer will these performances be tolerated before serious changes are made?

On Sunday night in San Francisco the Cowboys once again failed to show up on both sides of the ball.

The offense spent twice as much time sitting on their backsides on the bench than they did standing on the field.

They needed to run the ball and avoid turnovers. They did neither.

The defense kept negating third down stops with stupid penalties.

They generated no pressure on Brock Purdy. They couldn’t stop the run.

They needed to contain George Kittle and Christian McCaffrey. They did neither.

In short, the Dallas Cowboys arrived in San Francisco completely unprepared to play professional football.

The Good News

Dallas is still in second place in the NFC East at 3-2 and two games behind the Eagles. They still have two games against the Eagles ahead.

And Philadelphia has a brutal stretch coming up in their schedule ahead.

The Cowboys can still win the NFC East. They could possibly even host a divisional round game without playing in the wild card round.

The Bad News

They won’t make the playoffs if they keep playing the way they have against the Cardinals and the 49ers.

Every person associated with the organization owns what happened on Sunday night. From owner Jerry Jones on down.

The actual bad news? I have no clue how they fix this.

The scary news? I’m wondering if anyone at The Star does either.

By The Numbers

Including playoff games, it was the third-straight loss to the 49ers. The Cowboys had won the last three regular-season games against the 49ers.

San Francisco improves to 20-19-1 all-time against Dallas, 16-14-1 in regular season games.

The 49ers are now 11-10 against Dallas at home.

Is This The National Rugby League?

It is far past time for the “tush push” to go. Not in the off-season. Now.

As in the NFL needs to instruct its officials to start throwing a flag for illegal formation as soon as the ball is snapped.

That is a rugby play. It is not a professional football play.

And the real issue is that someone is going to get seriously hurt one of these times.

For a league so “concerned about player safety” allowing this play to continue seems to put the lie to those concerns.

Miami, What Is You Doin?

Third down with 45 seconds to play. The opponent is out of timeouts.

So, snap the ball, take a knee, and let the clock run down to about :04 seconds.

Then you either punt or run one last play with the quarterback backing up to eat up the clock before falling to the ground.

For those of us who watched the Miracle at the Meadowlands live in 1978, that’s the only option. Apparently this play was unknown to the Miami Hurricanes coaching staff.

In a clear take a knee and run out the clock situation, the Hurricanes instead ran a regular play. It ended in a fumble.

Georgia Tech then promptly won the game on a last second bomb.

Miami’s quarterback was seen sitting on the bench asking himself “What are we doing?” He had another word in there, but remember the children.

Son, that’s what we were all asking on Saturday night after watching the end of that game.

  1. I feel vindicated. I’ve been saying for a couple years that Dak is mediocre, and McCarthy is below average. Jerry has got to move on from these two, and needs to move on from himself as GM.

    • Yeah, we were truly toasted. To the stage of being burnt. May as well throw that shit in the trash! Dogs aren’t even interested!

  2. This team is a reflection of the dam owner so much hype hype hype now they see they ain’t nearly as good as they think they are hell the defense ain’t nearly as good as it’s hyped up to be we started off 2-0 all I was hearing the cowboys are a Superbowl contender this defense is elite all this bs and hell the only reason we beat the jets is because Aaron didn’t play I sware I’m done watching this team and as long as that fool is the dam owner this is wat it will always be

  3. We don’t aquire good defensive tackles that’s been an issue for god no how long now I see wat everyone been saying about dak offensive line isn’t good it’s just pitiful but Jerry thinks he as good gm this is the problem I’m definitely not on that dam hype train with this team hell we might win 8 games we might I new the 49ers would kick our ass I new it sad really fucking sad

  4. Not sure why you were not ready for this. Maybe you felt like you were going up against the bully for the first time and were afraid. It looked like a superbowl team came in and did an exhibition playing against a high school team that was mesmerized by being in the same field with idols and were too skiddish to perform to their capabilities. SF had more energy more desire more planing and scheming and was wayyyyy more prepared for a battle. Back to the drawing board. They double teamed Micah and nobody stepped up. Thank goodness Hankins came to play not much after that though. Will the real cowboys please stand up?????

  5. Why did they defer, when they won the coin toss?!?!? Stupidity!!! So Niners go right down the field… it’s almost like a turnover. You have the ball, and you hand it over to the opponent. MAKES NO SENSE!!!

After the goal line fumble by McCaffery, QB1 (AGAIN as he has done throughout his career), underthrows Gallup who beat his man deep down the right sideline, giving the defender time to catch up and tip the ball away. That would have been a big gain or better. QB1 was overthrowing and underthrowing the whole game. He was horrible. Throwing WRs out of bounds, the 3 INTs, ETC. Just three good passes, one to a wide-open Turpin and one to crossing Cooks and one to Lamb in the opening second half drive. THAT’S IT for $40 million a year. Just 8 first downs!!!

The pattern has been there for YEARS for all to see. When is the front office going to get their heads out of their a$$es.

If they extend this guy, they deserve what they get.

  6. I HATE that it happened this way, but it needed to happen. Dallas looked like they were just getting beat up on both sides of the ball. I’m glad it happened in week five, because you can guarantee the Cowboys are gonna use that game as a building block to prepare for every other game. We can blame management, coaches, and players, but it does us no good. We have to accept what we have as an organization and use it to the best of our abilities. I believe last nights beat down is gonna humble the cowboys and put a fire under their ass to know that, “NO, WE ARE NOT THE BEST,” but thank GOD there is a rematch. I believe the Cowboys will be practicing with a different frame of mind and different attitude. More focused and determined to not go out like that again. Stop talking shit, and get back to work and make sure we get those division game wins. GO COWBOYS! RIDE OR DIE!

    • Ishmael Belcher Everybody said the Cardinal game was the “wake-up” call. Well, they’re still sleeping.

    • Fred Goodwin I can see your point, but the Cardinal game we didn’t have our entire offensive line available. That being said, having everyone healthy except Trevon Diggs against the 49ers was in my opinion a true test. And we freaking failed, BIG TIME. Again, it is the NFL. Any given Sunday its anybody’s game regardless of what the analyst say.

  7. I’m over watching a bunch of overpaid players suck at playing football. Dallas could cut or attempt to trade just about every player on the team at this point and I wouldn’t care. We can go ahead and get rid of the family that owns the team as well

  8. I used to feel anger to opposing fans when they would see me donning my pride worn Cowboys jerseys. But now I see their mockery had a meaning. Yes we do SUCK!

  9. Dallas was out-played,out -coached just about every aspect of the game,San Fran and Philly are the teams in the NFL right now

  10. I’m just wondering when you say enough is enough! How many more blown games and interceptions does it take to say he’s just not the guy!!

  11. “How much longer will these performances be tolerated before serious changes are made?” You’re joking, right?

Serious changes will NEVER be made as long as Jethro is in charge. Jethro built this team, filled it with yes-men coaches and diva players who worship only the $$$ Jethro pays them.

Jethro never demands accountability, he established an atmosphere of “do whatever you want as long as I make $$$”.

He doesn’t care about winning another Super Bowl. If he did, he would fire his dumb@$$ GM and hire a real football guy, someone like John Lynch.

But we all know that will never happen because Jethro is perfectly happy with the entitled team of crybabies he has built.

  12. Ted Bryant Didn’t we all say that exact same thing after the Cardinals game? What makes this loss any different?

  13. This game basically affirmed ALOT of what actual cowboy fans have been saying .. DAK is TRASH .. The fan boys will come out and blame the coaches, WR’s and everyone else but rush to post Daks stats as if that’s any good.. 3 INT’s and a 42-10 loss.. come on bruh .. I can’t even be mad anymore

  14. This is a good team that just needs tweaking a bit.New QB,New running backs,New defense,New offence,New head coach and staff,New owner and while we’re at it kick Rowdy into touch.

Aubrey continues to be the cream of Dallas’ rookie crop

The 2023 rookie class in Dallas – aside from placekicker Brandon Aubrey – continues to underwhelm this season. While Aubrey was setting a new NFL record on Sunday, Luke Schoonmaker was coming up short in a crucial situation. But at least he got on the stat sheet. Which is more…

Famous Author Ronald Wright stated, “Each time history repeats itself, the price goes up.” That has to be the case for the Dallas Cowboys. Last season, in week 6, Dallas played the Philadelphia close with Cooper Rush at the helm. If memory serves me, that ballgame ended with a score…
