Is Monday’s game the first must-win for the Dallas Cowboys?

As we sit back and enjoy football on a Sunday that doesn’t featured the Dallas Cowboys, I found myself looking at the NFC and the rest of the Cowboys schedule.

The Chargers are a good football team on offense, but this could be a nice game for the Dallas offense to rebound.

As humbling as the 42-10 loss was the San Francisco 49ers, this team is still 3-2 with every chance to make the playoffs in a weaker NFC.

I am all for keeping it fair when it comes to the Cowboys, so is this game tomorrow a must win?

Honestly, call me crazy, but I think this team makes the playoffs even if they lose and fall to 3-3.

Numbers don’t lie

The Cowboys have a stat working in their favor though.

Since 2021, they are a league best 9-1 following a loss. That bolds well for tomorrow night.

This week has been filled with nothing but negativity.

Does the team deserve it?

Yes, but let’s not forget it’s only week six of the season, and if they win this game tomorrow they are sitting at 4-2. A lot of teams would take that right now.

CeeDee Lamb and Dak Prescott will bounce back on Monday night.

They both met this week to work out the frustration that is going on with them both and the offense. Mike McCarthy has got to move him around to get him open.

“He’s like, ‘if you have a problem with anything, just come up to me and we’ll talk about it. I don’t care how it necessarily looks in the media’,” Lamb said. “But the media is going to do what the media does anyway. If I stand by myself, it’s a problem. If I go talk to him and I flair my hands a little bit, it’s a problem. Right?”

Kellen Moore

This Cowboys defense has done a whole lot of talking even after taking an L last week.

They better not come out here and lay another egg against a Kellen Moore led offense.

You know he is going to want to light up the scoreboard against them, so Dan Quinn better have a good game plan ready to stop them.

The Chargers get Austin Ekeler back, Mike Williams is out for the year with a torn ACL, but Keenan Allen is a stud.

I hope we see Micah drop back as a linebacker some more this week, this team has plenty of depth at the defensive line, and with LVE out they need someone else back there.

Dallas signed Rashaan Evans to help with that, but there is no chance he will be ready after only being in the building for three days.

If this team wants to flip the script and prove they can compete with the best in the league, then go out on Monday and give the media something else to talk about.

Take care of business and win this football game. To say it is a must win in week 6 is probably a bit much, but if they rebound and beat Justin Herbert and the Chargers it will show me something.

Aubrey continues to be the cream of Dallas’ rookie crop

The 2023 rookie class in Dallas – aside from placekicker Brandon Aubrey – continues to underwhelm this season. While Aubrey was setting a new NFL record on Sunday, Luke Schoonmaker was coming up short in a crucial situation. But at least he got on the stat sheet. Which is more…
