Looking at the all-time record of the Dallas Cowboys during their scheduled Week 9 games one might be concerned.

Coming into today’s Week 9 matchup against the Eagles, Dallas’ all-time Week 9 record of 29-31 doesn’t bode well.

But the Cowboys are 19-18 in Week 9 games played on the road. They have won their last two Week 9 road games.

Today’s game is being played in Philadelphia.

Dallas is just 10-13 at home in Week 9 games – losing one game to the 1982 strike and two others to bye weeks. They have lost their last three Week 9 home games.

Better Against The NFC East

Against non-East Division teams in the NFC Dallas is just 7-15 in Week 9 contests. Against AFC teams in the ninth week Dallas is a little better at 7-8.

But against their NFC East opponents in Week 9 the Cowboys are 15-8.

And here is where the news really gets good for Dallas going into today’s game.

Playoff Berth At Stake?

The Cowboys are 7-3 all-time in Week 9 games played against Philadelphia.

They are 6-2 against the Eagles when those games are played in Philadelphia.

The six road wins came in: 1981, 1992, 1993, 1998, 2007, and 2009. The lone home win came in 1971.

Dallas has made it to the playoffs in all seven of the years when they’ve beaten the Eagles in Week 9.

The two road losses were in 1966 & 1997. The lone home loss – the last Week 9 meeting between the two teams – was in 2015.

The 1966 season is the only time Dallas has lost a Week 9 game against the Eagles and still made the playoffs.

Against The Eagles Overall

Sunday will mark the 129th meeting between the two teams overall. Dallas is 73-55 against the Eagles overall.

The teams have met four times in the postseason. Dallas leads 3-1 in those games.

At home, Dallas is 39-24 in the regular season and 3-0 in playoff games played at home against the Eagles.

Dallas is 31-30 in regular season games played in Philadelphia. The Eagles’ lone playoff win coming at home in the 1980 NFC Championship game.

The Cowboys lost their last game played in Philadelphia, 26-17 without Dak Prescott, last year. Dallas has beaten the Eagles the last five times they’ve met at AT&T Stadium.

During those 12 years he played only one Week 9 game at home – his final one in 2000 a loss to Jacksonville at Texas Stadium

The previous 11 Week 9 games during Aikman’s career were all played on the road. Dallas went 7-4 during that stretch.

Speaking Of Streaks

The Cowboys longest streak of consecutive seasons with a Week 9 home game is three, which happened on three different occasions: 1970-72, 1976-78, and 2013-15.

The Cowboys longest win streak of Week 9 games is 6: 1971-76. The longest losing streak is 4, done three times: 1960-63, 1985-88, and 1999-2002.

They have lost their last two Week 9 games overall in 2020 and 2021 with a bye week last year falling on Week 9.

  1. Eagles jucking ous ass but again wat the hell else is new this overrated ass defense who everyone says is an elite defense hasn’t stopped the eagles at all a lot of foolish ass penalties

  2. The whip is he garbage teams but again these sorry overrated bastards can’t beat real teams so like I say what’s the point in even watching this dam team I tell people over and over and over that this team is very dam overrated and overhype they simply is an extension of that foolish ass owner Jerry Jones the hell with the cowboys I’m done

  3. All that history was irrelevant to the outcome of the game. It always is.

But history is about all the Cowboys have left. 28 years and counting, Jerruh.
